Former Coushatta chairman loses bid to reclaim seat
The former chairman of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana lost his bid to reclaim his old seat.

Lovelin Poncho stepped down after the Jack Abramoff scandal broke. He had supported the convicted lobbyist.

Kevin Sickey, the tribe's former police chief, succeeded Poncho after being elected in June 2005. He retained his seat in an election on Saturday.
