Officer's actions defended after Pueblo boy's death
The police department in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is defending the actions of an officer who dealt with a Zia Pueblo woman who is accused of murdering her 3-year-old son

The officer wasn't able to confirm that Tiffany Toribio, 23, had a warrant out for her arrest. But the police chief said she probably wouldn't have been arrested because the warrant was for a traffic fine.

There were no warning signs about her son, Ty, either, the police chief said. "This was not a child who looked like he had been abused," Chief Ray Schultz told The Albuquerque Journal. "This is a child who looked like he had been taken care of."

A few hours after Toribio's encounter with the police, she allegedly suffocated Ty and buried him in a park.
