San Manuel Band marks decade of Commerce pact
The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians marked the 10-year anniversary of an agreement with the Department of Commerce.

The tribe offered space to the department to open an export assistance office. The deal was the first of its kind in Indian Country.

Since the agreement, the tribe has expanded its non-gaming business ventures. Among other holdings, the tribe owns hotels in Sacramento and Washington, D.C.

"You don't rely on anything for the rest of your life, said James Ramos, The Riverside Press-Enterprise reported.
