Santa Ysabel Band seeks to remove chairman
A leadership dispute continues within the Santa Ysabel Band of Mission Indians of California.

Chairman Johnny Hernandez tried to remove Vice Chairwoman Brandie Taylor for "blatant insubordination." But the Inter-Tribal Court blocked him from taking action.

Now, Hernandez is the one facing removal. Taylor said the tribe will hold a hearing on June 8 to determine whether to oust the chairman for allegedly misusing tribal funds.

Hernandez and Taylor have been clashing over gaming and other issues.
