The Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma will spend nearly $22 million to build a hotel patterned after an historic building.

The tribe expects to break ground on the hotel next year. It will feature 75 to 90 rooms, banquet and conference rooms, a restaurant, a cafe and a swimming pool, a spokesperson said.

The hotel is based on the Artesian, which was built for the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis. It was torn down and relocated in Sulphur, Oklahoma.

The tribe is building the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur.
