Oneida Nation and county near land-into-trust deal
The Oneida Nation and Oneida County are near a deal over the New York tribe's land-into-trust application, The Syracuse Post-Standard reports.

The tribe asked the Bureau of Indian Affairs to place more than 17,000 acres in trust. The county will apparently drop its opposition to the application.

The BIA has recommended 13,000 acres be placed in trust. A final decision wasn't made by the Bush administration.
