Cherokee Nation distributes over $3M to schools
The Cherokee Nation is distributing more than $3 million in car tag revenues to schools in northeastern Oklahoma.

The money will go to 107 school districts within tribal territory. The funds are based on the number of Cherokee students per district.

The tribe, the largest in Oklahoma, sets aside 38 percent of car tag revenues for education. The tribe has contributed more than $16 million since 2002.
