Yurok Tribe hosts first anti-meth conference
The Yurok Tribe of California is hosting its first ever conference on methamphetamine and its effect on youth.

The three-day Methamphetamine and Tribal Child Welfare Conference is part of the tribe's effort to combat use of the drug. The tribe says nearly half of all crimes on the reservation are linked to meth use.

”The only thing this drug stimulates is crime and despair,” Yurok Police Chief Dave Parris. told The Eureka Times-Standard.

The conference takes place at the tribal's office in Klamath.
