Man guilty for murder over fight about Columbus, AIM
A man from the Fort Belknap Indian Community in Montana was convicted of deliberate homicide for a murder that stemmed from a fight about Christopher Columbus and the American Indian Movement.

James Main Jr. was charged with murdering Lloyd Kvelstad, a non-Indian, after a at a party the day after Thanksgiving in 2006. The crime occurred in Hays, a border town in Montana.

Two other people were charged in connection with the crime. One pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence and another was found guilty of murder and tampering with evidence.
