Ojibwe man complains of discrimination by builder

An Ojibwe man and his wife told the Community Relations Commission in Farmington, New Mexico, they were discriminated by a local builder.
James and Linda Monchamp recently moved to Farmington from Minnesota. The couple says Presidential Construction refused to repair their home because James is Indian and Linda is a woman.
James Monchamp said David Spencer, the company's president, once greeted him with the expression "How." Spencer, who said his son-in-law is Indian, denied the accusation.
Linda Monchamp said the company ignored her when she asked about home repairs. Spender denied ever talking to Linda.
The Community Relations Commission was created in response to race-related incidents in Farmington involving members of the
Navajo Nation.
