Coyote Valley treasurer charged with theft
Sharlyne Elizabeth Burke, the treasurer of the Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians, has been charged with embezzling from the California tribe.

Burke is among several tribal leaders who have been indicted in connection with thefts from the tribe. But most of the case has unraveled and only one defendant pleaded guilty.

Burke's predecessor was among those indicted but the charges were dropped.
