Rumsey Band donated $50K to Obama inaugural
The Rumsey Band of Wintun Indians of California donated $50,000 to the inaugural committee for president-elect Barack Obama.

The contribution was the maximum amount allowable."We supported Obama in the general election, and we felt this donation was a good way for us to support such a historic inauguration," Chairman Marshall McKay told The Sacramento Bee.

Two other tribes -- the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians of California -- also donated the maximum $50,000 for the inaugural.
