Judge upholds arrests of Yakama Nation men
A judge in Washington upheld the arrests of two members of the Yakama Nation who were arrested on tribal land by a non-tribal police officer.

Harlan Luton and Willard Nanpooya are suspects in the luring of a 12-year-old girl. They were arrested on tribal land by a non-tribal officer from the city of Wapato.

Judge Michael Schwab of Yakima County Superior Court upheld the arrest and said evidence gathered from it can be used in court because the officer was in "fresh pursuit" of the men, who face trial next month. A lawyer for one of the suspects is considering an appeal.
