Soboba Band helps in arrest of carjacking suspect
The Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians said it was "surprised" by the show of force made by Riverside County Sheriff's Department in response to a carjacking.

Dozens of officers, including a SWAT team with an armored vehicle, stormed the reservation after a report of a carjacking. The tribe said the incident ended with the "uneventful" arrest of a non-member who is a suspect in the crime.

The tribe and the sheriff have been at odds over law enforcement on the reservation. In May, three tribal members were killed over a one-week period in police-related shootings.
