The Citizen Potawatomi Nation of Oklahoma has opened a regional office in southern California.
The office is located in San Marcos, about 35 miles north of San Diego. It will provide services to about 4,000 Potawatomi who in Southern California and southern Nevada, as well as to members of other federally recognized tribes.
The tribe's Legislature is composed of 13 districts, eight of which represent members who live outside of Oklahoma.
