Supreme Court won't rehear death penalty case
The U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to reconsider its ruling in death penalty case from Louisiana.

In June, the court voted 5-4 to bar the use of the death penalty in non-homicide cases. Louisiana asked the court to rehear the case but the same five justices said they wouldn't change their minds. An amended opinion will be issued, Justice Anthony M. Kennedy said in a statement.

The more conservative justices said they would haven reopened the case. Justice Antonin Scalia issued a statement explaining his reasons.
