Rincon Band donates $15K to save Christmas parade
A $15,000 donation from the Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians will save the Christmas parade in Escondido, California.

The Escondido Jaycees were about to cancel the parade because organizers couldn't raise enough money for a new security fee imposed by the city. But after an e-mail to the tribe, everything worked out.

"We are pleased we are able to express our appreciation for this important holiday tradition and support its continued celebration," vice chairman Bo Mazzetti said in a press release.

"I would never have thought to call a tribal band in Valley Center to help us out with the Christmas parade," a city council member told The North County Times.
