Native inmate who escaped prison captured
Police in Winnipeg, Manitoba, captured a Native inmate who escaped from a prison nearly a month ago.

Daniel Wolfe, 32, is the second-last inmate to be recaptured following the August 24 escape. Ryan John Agecoutay, 25, remains at large.

In total, six Native inmates escaped from the Regina Correctional Centre in Saskatchewan. Concerns about the escapees prompted the File Hills Qu'Appelle Tribal Council to cut the annual Treaty 4 Gathering from seven days to just one.

Wolfe was charged with two counts of first-degree murder for a shooting that occurred right after last year's powwow. The tribal council had similar concerns about safety last year but went ahead and hosted a full-week gathering.
