A 20-year-old woman is the latest victim of gang violence on the Samson Cree Nation in Alberta.

Delena Lefthand was shot inside her home on Saturday night. Authorities said her one-month-old daughter and other young girls were inside at the time of the incident.

The death is the third on the reserve in just the past two months. A 21-year-old man was found dead on August 2, just six days after a 16-year-old boy was killed in a gang-related incident.

In April, a two-year-old girl was shot and critically injured in April. Two teens were charged in connection with the incident.

The April shooting was the 12th incident of gun violence on the reserve during a three-week period. Authorities say 13 gangs are fighting over the drug trade in the area.
