Miccosukee Tribe supports Everglades project
The Miccosukee Tribe asked a federal judge to force the state of Florida to restart a water project in the Everglades.

The tribe says the reservoir will protect its homeland. But state officials and some environmental groups are willing to wait until the state finishes a $1.75 billion land deal that the tribe believes is a delay tactic.

The tribe has won rulings in federal court to protect the Everglades but cleanup and pollution remain an issue due to the sugar industry's influence in the state.
