Lac du Flambeau Band weighs use of former plant site
The Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians is weighing development of a former plant site in Elgin, Illinois.

The tribe bought the six-acre site in 1985. It was home to an electric supply company that has since moved to the tribe's reservation in Wisconsin, about 325 miles away.

The tribe hasn't made firm plans about the site but gaming has been brought up. It's not reported whether the land is held in trust.

The site needs upwards of $1.2 million in cleanup work.
