Jackie Taylor, Potawatomi legislator, dies at 73
Jackie Taylor, a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation of Oklahoma, died on Tuesday. She was 73.

Taylor was elected in March to serve in her tribe's newly created Legislature. She also served in the Oregon Legislature for four terms in the 1990s.

"Oregon has lost a great lady. She was one of a kind. She was an Oregon original," her successor, Betsy Johnson, told The Daily Astorian.
