Former Cherokee Nation employee sentenced
A former employee of the Cherokee Nation's business entity was sentenced to 18 months in prison for money-laundering.

Kevin James Poe worked for Cherokee Nation Enterprises. He admitted that he accepted gifts from a contractor who was doing business with the tribe.

The contractor, Jeremy Don Carlos Babbitt, was sentenced five years of probation and home detention for tax evasion.
