County sheriff faces charges in Crow tribal court
The sheriff in Big Horn County, Montana, faces domestic violence and other charges in Crow tribal court.

Lawrence "Pete" Big Hair, a member of the Crow Tribe, is accused of three charges of partner assault. His estranged wife, Caroline Big Hair, said he threatened and hit her in the presence of the couple's three children.

Since the children were present, Big Hair is accused of endangering the welfare of children. He also faces bribery charges because he allegedly tried to call in "a favor" to a tribal judge after he was arrested.

Big Hair pleaded not guilty to all the charges. He was elected in November 2006.
