The SCOTUS Blog offers "wild" speculation on the author of the opinion in Plains Commerce Bank v. Long, one of few remaining cases the U.S. Supreme Court has yet to decide.

Based on the month the case was heard (April) and the number of opinions written by the justices for each month, the blog speculates the opinion will be written by either Justice Antonin Scalia, Justice Anthony M. Kennedy or Justice Samuel A. Alito.

During oral arguments on April 14, Scalia made what appeared to be favorable comments about tribal jurisdiction. Kennedy appeared to have concerns about tribal courts not adhering to U.S. Constitutional standards. Alito had questions about the extent of tribal court jurisdiction over commercial matters.
