Recall election targets Gila River governor
Members of the Gila River Indian Community of Arizona go to the polls today to decide the fate of Gov. William R. Rhodes.

A recall petition accuses Rhodes of gross negligence, failing to follow tribal policy, failing to protect tribal members' civil rights and other charges. It stems from his decision to fire six tribal employees in 2006, the year he took office.

Rhodes' three-year term is due to end this year.
