Traveling vet clinic heads to Hoopa Valley

A traveling veterinary clinic made its annual visit the Hoopa Valley Reservation in northern California this past March.

The Remote Area Veterinary Services is run by the Humane Society of the United States and the Fund for Animals. It gives veterinary experience in the field and provides free services to people on the reservation.

"The RAVS animal clinic changes our world," Robin Roberts, a member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe, told The San Francisco Chronicle. "When I first moved here, there were roving packs of dogs and feral cats and lots of runover animals. Now people's consciousness level has been raised. They've actually learned correct pet care."

The clinic spent six days on the reservation, treating every animal at no cost.
