Pueblo settles case over ceremonies at ski resort

Nambe Pueblo has settled a lawsuit over ceremonies at a ski resort in the Santa Fe National Forest in New Mexico.

The tribe initially sued to stop the construction of a chairlift at Ski Santa Fe. That didn't happen but an agreement with the U.S. Forest Service is aimed at protecting the tribe's religious rights.

As part of the settlement, the Forest Service will erect a fence to shield tribal ceremonies from public view. The agency and the tribe will work together more closely on cultural issues.
