Navajo Nation helps detox center stay open

A detoxification center in Page, Arizona, won't be forced to close despite losing funds from the Navajo Nation.

The tribe said it could no longer provide $139,000 to the Rural Substance Abuse Transitional Facility. About 90 percent of the people served by the center are Navajo.

But the tribe is working to help the center obtain funds from the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, which distributes Medicaid for the state. The tribe also will send a staffer to help the center with paperwork.
