Ex-soldier sentenced for girlfriend's murder

A former U.S. Army soldier was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for murdering his girlfriend on the Fort Apache Reservation in Arizona.

Hunter Hugh Taylor III, 24, moved onto the reservation after being discharged from the Army. He pleaded guilty to second degree murder for the death of his 20-year-old girlfriend, who was a member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe.

Taylor claimed he was suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. Judge David G. Campbell ordered Taylor to undergo counseling as part of his sentence.
