Native women's shelter in Rapid City faces move

A Native women's shelter in Rapid City, South Dakota, is being forced to move.

Cangleska Inc. has operated the Ohitika Najin Win Oti (Standing Strong Woman) in an eight-bedroom home for several years. But the group lost its lease and has to move out by May 1.

Karen Artichoker, the manager of Cangleska, said the shelter served a growing number of Native women and their children. She said there was always a waiting list to get in.
