Ex-Cheyenne and Arapaho treasurer admits theft

Edward Dunn Whiteskunk, the former treasurer of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma, pleaded guilty to embezzlement on Wednesday.

Whiteskunk admitted he accepted $6,000 in tribal funds. But instead of taking a trip on tribal business to Washington, D.C., he kept $5,919, federal prosecutors said.

Whiteskunk, 51, could face prison time and as much as $100,000 in restitution.
