Cheyenne River woman pleads guilty to abuse

A woman from the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation in South Dakota pleaded guilty to child abuse.

Wendy Lynn Edna Veit, 34, admitted that she abused a 2-year-old girl for a four-month period last year. The state Department of Social Services had placed the toddler in Veit's custody.

Veit faces a sentence of 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
