Crow Tribe taps into natural gas resources

The Crow Tribe of Montana is developing its natural gas resources.

The reservation has 36 square miles of gas potential, the minerals director for the tribe said. So far, five wells have been drilled and a sixth is being completed this week.

"We're the poorest of the poorest in this country," Chairman Carl Venne told KULR8 News. "We've been depressed so long, I think, it's our time to make good."

The tribe receives a 20 percent royalty rate on its gas reserves.
