Shoalwater Bay Tribe out of power for a week

The Shoalwater Bay Tribe on has been without power for more than a week due to recent rain and flooding in Washington.

Power went out last Sunday. Generators have kept the tribal center and the casino open as the reservation waits for service.

"It's just the way the line goes. And we're the last people because we're the end of the line, so literally they fix everything and then they come out here," Chairwoman Charlene Nelson told KING 5 News.

President Bush has issued an emergency declaration that will help the state and individuals obtain aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
