The Interior Department has posted an audio copy of Secretary Dirk Kempthorne's speech to the National Congress of American Indians.

Kempthorne addressed the 64th annual convention yesterday via satellite. NCAI is meeting in Denver, Colorado, this year.

Kempthorne talked about two Indian initiatives in the fiscal year 2008 budget. One seeks to improve Indian education and the other tackles public safety on reservations. The speech lasted about 9.5 minutes.
