Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation swaps land

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut completed a land swap with the town of Ledyard on Tuesday.

The tribe is swapping 102 acres of a former farm for a 76-acre former park. The park is contiguous to the reservation.

"This is a win for both sides," said Chairman Michael Thomas, The Norwich Bulletin reported.

The swap was overwhelmingly approved by voters at a town meeting in May.
