Donations come in for Shoshone-Paiute Tribes

The Coeur d'Alene Tribe of Idaho has donated $25,000 to the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes, whose Duck Valley Reservation was hit by fire.

The Murphy Complex Fire burned about 200 power poles. That left the 1,300 resident of the reservation without electricity for eight days. Many lost food and supplies.

AMERIND Risk Management Corporation of New Mexico also donated $5,000 to the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes. The money came from the Protecting Tribal Families Fund that was created in the wake of fires in October 2003 that affected more than a dozen California tribes.

The Duck Valley Reservation straddles the Idaho-Nevada border.
