Editorial: Voice opinion on Navajo power plant

"More than 200 people turned out for the Desert Rock Power Plant draft Environmental Impact Statement public hearing last week at the Farmington Civic Center to voice their comments and questions about the proposed project.

The turnout reflects the vast importance of this issue to everyone in our communities. There are certainly strong voices on each side of the debate.

After all, it has been decades since the Four Corners region has seen the likes of a project the size and scope of the proposed Desert Rock Power Plant.

We encourage everyone to exercise their rights and speak out, either at the remaining public hearing or by mail or e-mail, to comment on the impact statement. Each and every voice should be heard."
