Rosebud Sioux chairman faces hearing over land deal

The Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota will hold a hearing to determine if Chairman Rodney Bordeaux violated the constitution over a $1 million land deal, The Sioux Falls Argus Leader reports.

An ethics complaint names Bordeaux, his sister and his brother-in-law Mike Boltz, all of whom are directors for the tribe's land enterprise board. The Bordeauxs are accused of buying an 800-acre property at a hugely inflated price after the tribal council rejected the deal, the paper said.

The hearing will be held July 30.
