Crow woman reflects on 25 years of Army service

Julie Kelly, a member of the Crow Tribe of Montana, has spent 26 years in the Army but says the time has passed by quickly.

"I can't believe how the time has flown<" Kelly told The Billings Gazette. "I look down at these stars and reefs and think, 'Oh gosh, I did it. After all the years of being a single parent, a wife for a little while and working, I did it.'"

Kelly, who recently achieved the rank of command sergeant major, has served in Iraq and other parts of the world. She finally came home to Montana after a six-year absence but will be heading off soon for her next assignment in Kansas.
