Meskwaki Tribe graduates first high school class

The Meskwaki Tribe of Iowa graduated its first senior class on Saturday.

The four students -- three girls and one boy -- are the first to finish the Meskwaki Settlement School, which was built in 2001. Superintendent Jerry Stephens said each plans to continue their education.

The school has about 200 students from preschool through high school. Eleven students are expected to graduate next year.

The tribe is building a $21 million building for grades seven through 12.
