UTTC's small business program graduates 13 this year

The small business development program at United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck, North Dakota, graduates 13 people this year.

Graduates include Florine Burning Breast, a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota. She hopes to use her degree to open a business on the reservation.

"They see such a need to go back and make it easier to live in," program director Carol Anderson said of the students, The Bismarck Tribune reported.

The program started in 1995 with just four students. Now it has more than 60 students.

Overall, UTTC has more than 1000 college students and 500 elementary students. David Gipp has served as president for 30 years.
