BIA office in Palm Springs criticized by landowners

The Bureau of Indian Affairs office in Palm Springs, California, moves too slow, Indian landowners say

Larry Olinger, a member of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, said it was very confusing to deal with the office. He said deals take far too long to get approved.

Keith Shibou, an accountant who represents Indian landowners, agreed. He said his clients lose out on good deals for prime property in Palm Springs.

The office manages land that accounts for a fifth of the total income generated on individual Indian lands.
