Spokane sisters move business to reservation

Two members of the Spokane Tribe of Washington have moved their natural products business to the Spokane Reservation.

Marina TurningRobe and Monica Simeon formed Sister Sky in 1999. They make lotions, shampoos and other body products using traditional ingredients.

The sisters have targeted their products at tribal-owned hotels and resorts. Last year, they sold 500,000 units, The Spokesman Review reported.

TurningRobe and Simeon mix and label their products on land owned by their father on the reservation. They eventually hope to build a large manufacturing facility on land that was allotted to their great-great-grandfather.
