Oklahoma tribes discuss partnership with Tulsa

The leaders of the Cherokee, Muscogee and Osage nations met with officials in Tulsa, Oklahoma, last week to discuss a partnership for economic development.

The meeting was describe as historic. "The fact that you have all three tribal leaders sitting at the same table with Mayor Kathy Taylor shows there is a willingness," Osage Nation Chief Jim Gray said, The Tulsa World reported.

The tribes and the city talked about ways they could help Tulsa grow. All three tribes own land within Tulsa city limits and operate casinos in or near the city.
