Monteau joins forces with Indian law firm

Harold Monteau, a former chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission, has joined a new Indian law firm.

Monteau, a member of the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana, is joining Rosette & Associates as a named partner. The firm will now be known as Rosette & Monteau.

"I am joining with Rosette & Associates because they are committed to the diversification of tribal economies into new areas such as energy development, on-reservation manufacturing, new markets tax credits and international business transactions," said Monteau. "The Indian-owned and operated structure of the firm ensures that tribes are serviced by attorneys that understand and share tribal values."

Monteau recently departed his former firm, Monteau & Peebles. The firm also lost Michael Anderson and Loretta Tuell, two former Clinton administration officials who started their own Washington, D.C. shop.
