Fund to help Indians start businesses in Montana

A new fund created by the state of Montana aims to help Indian entrepreneurs start their own businesses.

The Indianpreneur Equity Fund will be seeded with $70,000. Each of Montana's eight tribes will receive $7,875 for their entrepreneurs, who will have to come up with matching funds or collateral.

Applications are being accepted until June 30. The fund was developed by the Montana Department of Commerce in cooperation with the State Tribal Economic Development Commission and the Governor's Office of Economic Development.
