Choctaw Nation breaks ground on community center

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma broke ground on a $1.2 million community center, one of 17 planned throughout the tribe's jurisdictional area.

The 7,800-square-foot center in Isabel will house field offices for outreach services for tribal services, offer meals for senior citizens and serve as a gathering place. It is located next to the tribe's health complex.

Revenues from the tribe's gaming facilities, ravel plazas and manufacturing paid for the facility.
