Skull discovered at site of landfill in Illinois

The discovery of a skull and artifacts at a landfill in Illinois has the Osage Nation and Native activists worried.

The Milam landfill in St. Clair County is located near the world-famous Cahokia Mounds. The Osages have ties to the people who built the site.

Waste Management of Illinois plans to expand the landfill but the skull and artifacts have the tribe and Native activists calling for the proposal to be dropped. The company needs approval from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the city of Madison.
